Undergraduate Research
UPIBI faculty are dedicated to offering research opportunities in biomedical informatics to undergraduate students at affiliated institutions. These experiences can contribute meaningfully to future applications for graduate or professional education and may result in co-authored publications. Research experience is also beneficial for students seeking positions as research assistants, data analysts, lab technicians, or consultants. Interested students are encouraged to contact faculty directly. In many cases, prior experience is not required.
UPIBI Undergraduate Research Opportunities
UPIBI is committed to supporting the next generation of informatics researchers by mentoring curious and driven undergraduates. To support this effort, UPIBI offers funding for research fellowships. Students working with UPIBI Senior Fellows may be eligible for awards of $2500 per semester while participating in informatics research projects.
To apply for support, the faculty mentor should send a formal request and short project summary to Marina Tanjutco, Program Director at UPIBI. Funding is limited, and if applications exceed available resources, the UPIBI Executive Committee will review and vote on submitted proposals.
