Dr. Jason Moore Named Director of the Institute for Biomedical Informatics at Penn Medicine
Jason H. Moore, Ph.D., has been named the first permanent director of the Penn Institute for Biomedical Informatics (IBI), at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. His appointment starts March 1, 2015. Moore is an expert in biomedical informatics, human genetics, and systems genomics. He comes to Penn from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College where he served as the Third Century Professor of Genetics and Director of the Institute for Quantitative Biomedical Sciences.
Moore will have faculty appointments in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and the Department of Genetics. He will serve as the inaugural Chief of the Division of Informatics in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. In addition, he will serve as the Senior Associate Dean of Informatics at the school of medicine. He will hold the Edward Rose endowed chair in Informatics.
