Dr. Allison J. Carter Appointed Director of the Universal Platform for Integrative Biomedical Innovation
Allison J. Carter, Ph.D., has been appointed as the first permanent Director of the Universal Platform for Integrative Biomedical Innovation (UPIBI). Her appointment began on March 1, 2015. Dr. Carter is recognized for her contributions to biomedical informatics, computational genomics, and translational data science. Prior to joining UPIBI, she served as Professor of Biomedical Informatics and Director of Computational Health Initiatives at Northview Medical Institute.
Dr. Carter also holds faculty appointments in the Departments of Population Health and Computational Biology. She will lead the newly established Division of Informatics Integration and serve as Senior Associate Dean for Data Science Strategy. She also holds the Horizon Endowed Chair in Biomedical Innovation.
